Chasing Your Dreams Can Be Scary

This post alone terrifies me. I think it’s because often times, we are scared to voice our fears.

As a writer a lot of things scare me. I’m scared to fail, I worry about being judged and I get a pit in my stomach everytime I think about someone else reading my book. But the thing that scares me the most… is that I’m not worth it. It’s a lie I tell myself constantly, that I’m not worth being great. There’s some things I’ve had to learn though, and a lot of them I learned the hard way.

“Sometimes the hardest part of the journey is believing that you are actually worthy of the trip,” -Unknown

Sometimes in life, our greatest fear is believing that we aren’t good enough, and we fuel those negative thoughts when we believe that others don’t think we are good enough either. Sometimes I do have thoughts like these, and instead of treating a simple mistake as a learning opportunity, I beat myself up for it. Sometimes we will all fall short of our own expectations, but does that mean we have to fall for believing we aren’t good enough? There are a few very important things to remember when you feel this way.

ONE

Nobody can do it better than you can, after all, you are the only you that you can be. Stop worrying about what other people are doing and achieving, you have to lead your own path, you can’t follow theirs.

TWO

Where you are in life right now is exactly where you are supposed to be.

THREE

Things are going to be alright. They are coming together, maybe not immediately, but we’re getting there. When times are tough, remind yourself that you are tougher. No pain comes without a purpose. Move on from whatever it was that hurt you, but never forget what it has taught you.

FOUR

Every day comes with a choice. You can either choose to be happy, or you can choose to be miserable. Whatever the choice is, it is entirely up to you. Remember that you are always good enough to at least try.

FIVE

Failures are just lessons that need to be learned. They come with the hardest teachers where the test comes first, and the lesson come second . Besides, yesterdays impossibilities could be todays possibilities.

SIX

What you are capable of doing depends on how badly you want it. When something means enough to you, then you can do it.

SEVEN

For everything you lose, you will gain something more, perhaps something better. Appreciate what you have today, because life is too short to waste it worrying.

The truth of the matter is that you ARE good enough, in fact, you are better than good enough. You’ll just have to own up to that, and you’ll have to own up to everything else you are up against. If you let yourself believe that your troubles are too powerful, then you will never be able to rise up above them.
